BUDOKAN Judo Club won five gold and silver medals plus two bronze at the 2010 NSW Challenge at Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday, November 21.
The challenge was the first state selections for under-14s and cadets for the NSW Team for 2011 Australian Championships.
The tournament was the first of three selection tournaments for the 2011 Australian Championships.
Athletes are vying for positions in the NSW State team for the championships in Perth.
Budokan Judo Club coach Rob Katz said the club had several new athletes competing for the first time at the level including Liam Stewart, Sam Dessen and Jaimon Baird.
``All athletes competed well and are well on the way to NSW representation next year,’’ Katz said.

``Budokan had a few athletes unable to compete at this event for various reasons, so our campaign for 2011 is now underway,’’ Rob Katz said.
